Integrity Conference - Anti-Corruption Conference in Basel, Switzerland

Ms. Angela Joo-Hyun Kang, Founder and Executive President of Global Competitiveness Empowerment Forum (GCEF) participated in the Anti-Corruption Conference in Basel, Switzerland, as the South Korean project partner representative of Siemens Integrity Initiative, along with other 30 representatives of global projects in all over the world.

Anti-Corruption Conference in Basel, Switzerland
- Experts on business ethics and compliance all over the world emphasized 'Collective Action' to combat corruption network

The Anti-Corruption Conference, organized by the Basel Institute's International Centre for Collective Action (ICCA), was held in Basel, Switzerland on June 26-27, 2014 with the topic of “Collective Action: Going Further Together to Counter Corruption”.

Experts on business ethics and compliance all over the world emphasized 'Collective Action' to combat corruption network by voicing “It takes mutual efforts for Collective Action among business, government and civil society to eradicate corruption.” and shared successful practices of Collective Action, along with lessons learned and academic researches through peer discussions on various anti-corruption issues.

31 global project representatives of Siemens Integrity Initiative, initiated by Siemens Germany and World Bank attended the conference. Many global experts from international organizations like World Bank, EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction & Development), UN Global Compact and World Economic Forum participated in the conference as well as multinational enterprises like Google, BP and Siemens, along with leaders from governmental organizations and civil society.

Mr. Andreas C. Hoffmann, General Counsel of Siemens AG said, “For Collective Action to eradicate corruption, corporate culture emphasizing anti-corruption and innovative change in public sector are both needed. The past example of Siemens is now symbolized as a new example of change with proven outcomes.”
